OriGym was launched in 2015 by co-founders Luke Hughes and Steph Roberts to offer a range of health and fitness qualifications. Between them they have over 30 years of combined experience in the fitness industry.
Our company’s mission is to ensure that our students receive the best professional service available in the industry. This is why we have post-course support to ensure over 90% of our students are now working as fitness professionals!
We offer a range of health and fitness courses of varying levels and disciplines from personal training, sports massage and nutrition to CPD courses specialising in different styles of training. We offer all of the foundational courses you’ll need to become a fitness professional!

All of OriGym’s qualifications are CIMSPA accredited and Ofqual regulated. Our qualifications are awarded by Focus Awards whose accreditations are recognised by major health and fitness chains globally, allowing you to work wherever your career takes you.
When you’re an OriGym student, you’ll have access to our extensive range of course materials including our interactive online learning platform, online lectures, interactive quizzes and e-books.

We have absolutely no hidden fees - the price you’re quoted is the price you’ll pay! We don’t charge for things that some of our competitors do like booking exams, certifications fees, and resits.

We’re dedicated to training the next generation of fitness professionals, and by keeping our costs as low as possible we’re able to achieve just that.
By providing you with an “all-in” price, what you see on our course pages is what you’ll pay for that course. We don’t charge extra for any administration, examination, or certification costs.
Finally, our competitive course prices are influenced by partnerships we have with gyms and assessment centres, meaning we don’t need to charge extra for overheads like venue hire.
With our strong industry reputation, we’re able to offer several funding options to our students.
We’re partners with the Ministry of Defence, which provide funding for military personnel who are looking for qualifications for level 3 and above.
We also have relationships with the Players Football Association (PFA), Professional Cricketers Association (PCA) and the Rugby Player’s Association which provide course discounts and funding for sports professionals.
As a condition of receiving funding from our partners, we require proof of affiliation with these organisations.

As soon as you receive your official certification you can start practising and looking for roles in whatever part of the industry you’ve chosen! Don’t forget though that you will need to make sure you have the appropriate insurance or check if you’re covered by the policy of where you work.
With all of our courses you'll finish with enough CIMSPA points to qualify for membership. This means you can boast being a CIMSPA accredited health and fitness professional giving your services a stamp of approval! This can then be renewed yearly.
The study method depends on the course you choose as some need to have more practical elements than others. This can be found on all of our course pages!
In general, however, we have three options: full time, part time, and online. This means either spending all of your time in the classroom or blended with our award winning e-learning platform.

OriGym is accredited by four governing bodies, these are:
- CIMSPA (the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity) who help ensure the highest standards of service delivery for students.
- We’re also endorsed by PD Approval, which provides a framework for fitness qualifications across the UK.
- Our qualifications are regulated by Ofqual, the UK governing body for all academic and vocational qualifications, the gold standard for fitness courses.
- We also hold a ISO9001 certification, which ensures all of our teaching processes are of the utmost quality.
